I used to be proud of the way I managed money. I kept a budget book and knew where my money was going. That is when I had family and had to make sure everyone was taken care of. Now, it is just me and I have grown careless. If I have it, I spend it. And have nothing to show for it. In my defense, I have been putting money in savings and haven't touched it. I have some big house repairs coming.
So, I have been reading all my helpful hint and money saving books. Getting motivated once again. Food: I have set an envelope aside with a certain amount of money in it. I will have to make it last for two weeks. What this means is, I will need to start using coupons and deals. Flipp app will tell me were the deals are. Coupon.com will let me make coupons. I will also go get the Sunday paper and clip coupons from it. I also have a bad habit of not eating all the leftovers or buying too much of something and not eating it all. The food waste needs to stop. This next week is clean out the freezer and pantry week and eat what I find. Credit Cards: I don't use them much. They are all pretty much maxed out due to the move from Virginia to Colorado. I pay a little extra every month but none seem to be going down. So I will follow my daughter's lead. Pay minimum on all the cards except for the highest interest card. I will pay the extra on it until it is paid off, then move on to the next one. I also have many small accounts growing online, and I will start working on building them up. I use SavingsStar, Checkout 51, and Snap. When I buy certain grocery items, I am able to get money back. On Fridays, SavingStar offers a free item. These are slow building accounts because many of the brands are expensive and I don't buy them. I also have my writing pages and photo pages. My paypal account is idle right now, but I am going to start selling on ebay again. I will work hard this month, and maybe I will get back into the habits I used to have. I will post my progress. :)

Do you shop at Walmart? Who doesn't. If you are a Walmart shopper, use those receipts to make some of your money back. Log your receipt by adding the Saving Catcher app on your smart phone, or going to Walmart.com and inputting your receipt.
If there is a better deal in your local area, you will get back the the difference. This is so much easier than going through newspaper flyers yourself. You will be able to draw your savings out on an e-card, or on a Blue Bird card. If you have an iphone, here is an app to help you find shopping deals for moms and babies.http://bst.is/nNJYW8
